    update - this review is now out of date, I suggest removing it.

    the dsl service was great and reliable (but slow), but I no longer use them because of all the fees, taxes, and charges associated with the voice lines. I am now 'sprint free' and 'embarq free'. no phone wires running into my house!

    You could have....

    you could have tried to get Embarq's "DirectDSL" aka Naked DSL...no extra fees or taxes on that (well,some States, like Texas, tax Internet service).

    naked dsl...

    At the time I switched it was sprint/united tel and they had no such thing. I'm so happy with my cablemodem service now I'm not looking back.
