I use it as a backup. It is more useful for its calling card feature (called a DISA), meaning that you can route an incoming call to the 'calling card', and get a prompt to enter your PIN. When you do, you get a dial tone.

Very handy, and I'll be using it until Voip.ms puts in its own DISA, which is in the works.

    CallCentric to Europe

    Thanks for informative review.

Over in the Voip Tech Chat forum, you said that the problem is mostly on calls to the UK.

I'm curious, what did CallCentric say about this?

I haven't called Europe with them, but I do call the middle east with no problems.

I guess that everyone has different experiences. Your CallCentric calls to the UK have been poor, while "neko" has reported good calls from Canada to the UK

That's why I am curious what CC said.

If you do much calling to UK, you could also consider CallWithUs, who have a UK server.

    Problems calling Asia/Australia too

I'm having the same problem. While Callcentric support is very helpful and will always follow up a trouble ticket, they tend to stop short of fully resolving the problem.

I was having intermittent problems connecting with numbers in Australia and Asia. I'd get a ringtone, but it would keep ringing even after the callee picks up. Either that, or the line would drop right after that. Sometimes it goes through, but mostly it doesn't. Callcentric tech support would try the same numbers, then say "works for me!" when they get a ringing tone.

I eventually "solved" the problem by moving away from Callcentric and using CallwithUs for international outbound calls. Too bad, Callcentric lost a fair chunk of the money I spend on calls every month.
