Castleton On Hudson,Rensselaer,NY
$59 per month (60 month contract)
"Good presales led to a long install that never happened."
"DSL throughput=0kps"
"Good ride, but no golden ring!"
Pre Sales information:
Install Co-ordination:
Connection reliability:
Tech Support:

I ordered DSL from AtecOne in May. After taking two days off work for Bell Atlantic and AtecOne installation, I still didn't get connected. Over the course of the next few weeks, I had a Bell Atlantic technician test my loop (home office to CO) and found that it was perfect.

AtecOne offered plenty of excuses, from the pertinent to "I dunno", but in the end reported problems with ChoiceOne's DSLAM and that my "lines" would have to be re-provisioned. Still no DSL. After six weeks with plenty of excuses and no DSL, I pulled the plug.

Troy,Rensselaer,NY
$60 per month (month by month)
"Great sales/install coordination. Very knowledgeable service technicians."
"Mail/news servers not relayed to me. Have no documentation on service contract."
"I would recommend this service to others in the Albany area. 36-month contract is $40/month!!"

Value for money:

I recently signed up for DSL with AtecOne in Albany, NY. I got SDSL with
bandwidth of 384K/384K. Installation was free (though as with all DSL
providers, you must have appropriate interior wiring, which I did myself -
they will subcontract this out for you if you want someone else to do it).
Bell Atlantic installed the additional phone line, and the AtecOne service
technician came in and set up the DSL in about 6-minutes including the
modem and explanation of how to set up additional machines. It was
completely painless and I applaud the service group and sales at AtecOne.
