    My Other Reviews·Suddenlink
I lived out in a very rural area about 2 years ago and used Bayou Internet for dial-up internet access. I noticed I was getting kicked off of the internet every few hours while gaming or downloading things, then I noticed what was happening...every 5 hours on the hour I was getting disconnected. I called "tech support" and told them about it, and their answer was "your connection is automatically terminated every 5 hours...it's normal". I told them this was unacceptable, as I was paying for unlimited access and being kicked off of the internet every 5 hours wasn't unlimited. Long story short, they told me there was nothing they could do so I told them to close my account and I was switching to AT&T dial-up which was $5 more per month but never disconnected me. I also told them I was not paying my remaining account balance because I was lied to about their "unlimited access". I switched to AT&T dial-up, and even though the highest speed I could connect at where I lived was 26.4kbps, I was was able to remain connected to the internet for days at a time with no disconnects with AT&T.

    wrong type of account

I have had Bayou Internet for over 6 years and I love it.
They have different types of account and the one I have never kicks me off, although I do pay 17.95 per month.
Maybe the $14.95 low price dial up has some kind of limit.
    Does it stop you reconnecting?
I switched from Bellsouth to Bayou Internet because of poor customer service, which I have not had from the Local guys

256K x 1.5MB for $49.95. Good ping, no latency. Got Modem in mail 4 days after I ordered, and support had me up and working in 20 minutes.
I added a Static IP for $20 and am considering a 5=pack for 50. I would like to run a few other services.
    Great Company.
