I have had ABB at multiple locations over the past with no issues. I was recently installed at my new house and have had nothing but quality service. Started off on a promo for around $30, which will soon jump to the $40+ rating which is a little high. I can deal with the price as long as the stability stays as is. In the 5-6 years I have had the service we have had nearly 100% stability. Pings are great and speeds are consistantly over the cap with usenet and the likes. Not much of a gamer, so I cannot comment on that myself. However, my roomate is playing quite often and has not reported any problems.
The only problem I have is that they appear to be throttling packets, specifically bit torrent packets. An encrypted program increased the results from 12kb/s to 100kb/s. Granted, the speed is never constant and is always fluctuating. I will not rule out user end issues, but it just seems odd after I was hitting 400+kb/s on my Adelphia connection with the same equipment. Just another reason I prefer Usenet.
No need for tech support, I run my own.
Equipment - Motorola SB5100 modem and Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router running two desktops and one wireless laptop.
All in all, good service.

When I first got ABB, everything was okay, after a few months the online gaming sucked 50 - 98% packet loss, slow slow connections, even with the 5 Meg it sucks, done speed tests on multiple sites, they all came up any where from 1120 - 2100 mbit/ps, called tech several times, no solution has been made yet

I'm in the boonies now. Cumberland, MD area but I'm in WV. Cable has just been deployed lately. I called the local office and they came out to do a survey. Cable had to be strung from the pole to the house, about 700-1,000 feet.
Talked to the local tech manager and he said no problem. Soon, two bucket trucks and a van showed up to install the line.
Couple hours later I had a cable modem in my house with a low latency connection. I started out with the most basic package, just to get it up and running. 384k/384k is all I have right now. A phone call away is a better package but I'm online!
The only other thing I coul dhave done would be a T1 from Verizon.

I ordered their 3meg/360k package. It took about a week from order to install. The independant tech who came to install this at my house found that he would have to go under my house in the crawl space in order to run the coax line out to the main box. After a bit of "ho-hum,ho-hum" on his part,it was clear to me that he did not want to get a little dirty actually having to work. I guess he thought it would be just another,(connect the coax to the modem and then to the PC and "vualla",you now have broadband" type of job. So I ended up going under my home so I could have the coax fed down to me,so I in-turn could route it out to the box so he could then hook it up..."what a bum",is all I could think!!!!!
Now that I've had the service for a couple of weeks,I am a very satisfied customer. The speed has been great and very reliable.I used to have Comcast a couple years ago,so I understand that there are times during the day when you'll see it run a little slower. But,other than that...it so far has'nt given me any reason to regret going with Atlantic Broadband.

Atlantic Broadband is overpriced, but the service is reliable. The few calls to customer service have been horrible, with conflicting responses from each Customer Serice Representative I speak to.
INTERNET: After a horrible year of fluctuating speeds (the issues were with their AT&T backbone connection, not local issue), things have been great for the last couple of months.
TV SERVICES: Limited options, overpromoting HD-DVR service with no equipment availability, and over priced. I don't forsee things improving quickly, because there is no competition, in an urban area where many customers can't get Satellite due to obstructed southern views.

I have ABB at home and at work (with static IP). Just recently the speed was doubled at no cost which was really nice. In the first couple month after AtlanticBB took over from Charter the service was a bit shaky but in the last couple month it went very well. It got better with the time and they even doubled the speed at no cost. The download/upload speed is always at the top. I can not say much about the technical support since i don't use it that often. The technical support is deffinately from better quality for business customer then for the home customer. I would give ABB 4 out of 5 points as overall raiting and would recommend it to others.

For years we had no broadband options in Middletown. Now we finally have the option of internet via the local cable outfit, Atlantic Broadband. Problem is it's not a good service. I subscribed to the top level service which was advertised as 5/512. Never achieved better than 1.8/350. And for this I was charged $65 a month. In my first month of service I enjoyed a 1 week outtage. First service call available was 2 weeks out. After a month of this service I cancelled and got Fios. Now I pay $45 for 15/2. Couldn't be happier now.

| completely agree horrible is an undestatement for the costumer service, in particular the internet people. They don't really help or want to help because it is your computer and not the ISP, everything is always fine on their end. I will go back to Bellsouth as soon I can, because they at least have nice outsourced costumer support. | |

| Agree Atlantic BB in Miami Beach Lacking The service is terrible and the uptime is worse. For someone who relies on a stable constant connection to work from home, I cannot rely on this service. Outtages are frequent. There is little the guys on the phone can do from PA when the local techs pretty much do nothing (I have got shoulder shrugs and someone else will have to fix). DSL is the only other choice even though BellSouth only offers 1.5MB in Miami Beach.
I would stay away. | |

3000 / 320 for $34.95 / month isn't bad, but there is still room for improvement.
