It can vary widely, from a week in some parts of the country, up to 2 months or more, depending on what kind of problems there are between the DSL provider and the telco and the ISP. Obviously with time, the install process becomes more routine, and the delay drops. In some telco areas with straightforward ADSL installs, the whole setup can be done inside a week. A good suggestion is to identity who your potential provider will be, and ask in the appropriate forum here on the site.
