Migration to RR - Northeast Ohio?
Does anyone know when my Adelphia will migrate to RR?
Reason why I am asking - I have a new pc running Vista, and when checking out the help.rr.com/vistasupport site, it states that their Security package isn't compatible at this time. My 90-day trial of WLiveOneCare will expire by the 1st part of June.
Thanks for any info. :)

So if their security suite is not compatible with vista yet, what will the migration do for you? it will still be the same old security suite.
Go to »avast.com and download their AV, it's free, fast and fun. One of the best I have seen and compatible with vista. :)

The migration for my area happened within the last hour or so. Now the IP address belongs to Roadrunner.
Although they also changed the speeds, increasing the download while decreasing the upload speeds.

Re: Migration to RR - Northeast Ohio?
I just got switched over to Road Runner earlier today. However, my connection has been barely functional since then. Some webpages (like google) work fine, while others (like this one) either take 5 minutes to load or simply time out. I did an nslookup on my IP and I've definitely been switched... the only thing I can see that's out of line is the connection-specific DNS suffix is now blank whereas before it was "clvdoh.adelphia.net" or whatever. I've tried specifying the domain name with my router (neo.rr.com) and tried connecting without the router, but neither seemed to work. Any ideas? Is this a problem that I should just wait out? Thanks.

LadyL,
Don't know if this helps...
I just tried to change my email and it appears to have been taken care of already.
Mine was something@adelphia.net and now it is something@roadrunner.com
I didn't change any settings to do this.
I just logged in at rr.com, send myself a test email from adelphia to roadrunner and it showed up in thunderbird on its own.

Still no clue how to actually access it with existing user/pass.

In- pop-server.roadrunner.com
Out- smtp-server.roadrunner.com
I read that info somewhere a few weeks ago, but have not confirmed it to be accurate since I needed no changes to email today.

Re: Migration to RR - Northeast Ohio?
I don't believe we'll be using the rr.com e-mail portal. That is for legacy R-R users. The adelphia.net webmail page has been aliased to roadrunner.com for several months now. I suspect that in due time they will find a way (or have a plan) to merge the two, but its obvious they have not done so yet. I'm surprised the rr.com web page allows log-ins using the former Adelphia login names, as they could be duplicated on the neoh.rr.com type domains. I suspect patience should be in order, since I've received NO official information from TWC on the change (albeit I've been away from home on vacation for the past week, so its possible there is something in the snail mail!)

Yes those are the correct servers but at this point everything regardless of server you use uses adelphia.net, THAT can change at any time now so you have a year to change everything and notify everyone of your new address.

Here's the deal, people can send you mail @roadrunner.com & @adelphia.net currently. The @adelphia.net address is going to continue to accept email for awhile longer into the future, they prefer that you use @roadrunner.com so that when the @adelphia.net address ceases to work everyone is already familiar with your @roadrunner.com address. Essentially they are both the same address.
When you login to the webmail, and it shows @adelphia.net, you cannot change this currently, it will not change until all the adelphia markets have been migrated to time warner. There won't be anything additional you will need to do, it should change automatically for you.

Should just be going to webmail.adelphia.net or webmail.roadrunner.com (same site as webmail.roadrunner.com essentially) when you login make sure to use just your username, not the full @roadrunner.com or @adelphia.net
The only thing you need the full email address (@adelphia.net) is for the account management currently off of the rr.com homepage.

Your Adelphia password(s) IS(are) your Roadrunner Password(s).
The ONLY things users need to change is what they put after the @ and the servers used.
For the time being, both @adelphia.net and @roadrunner.com will work but show as @adelphia.net.
Change your address(es) used NOW, along with the servers.

This is exactly what I see and I am able to login just fine.
I use Mozilla Firefox and if I remember right we have to use Internet Explorer to make any changes, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I stopped using IE years ago because all the security to tighten it down didn't even allow me to surf. Since it's been so long I don't even know where to begin to make changes to be able to get to the Road Runner site. I'm also not going to upgrade a browser that I'll never use.
I have not received anything via e-mail or the postal mail as to instructions on changing my e-mail. I have a "special" characters in all of my Adelphia e-mail accounts so I know I'm going to have to make some changes.
I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my e-mail and I tried to change the SMTP and POP servers yesterday but when I sent myself a few test e-mails I got errors.
I'm going to wait until I hear something more definate on how to proceed. The changes were just made this weekend so maybe things aren't ready yet in our area.
Just my opinion.

The Tech that I spoke with stated that we will still be getting email via the @adelphia for maybe up to 1 year, but that it was wise to let our 'friends'/etc know about the upcoming email addy change in advance. I've done all of that on Sunday! :D I just sent them all an email and/or went to the sites (Forums/Games/Utilities/Medical) and did the 'change of email address' found on each site. I've received confirmation emails from all of these sites that their databases have been changed per my instructions. :)

Speeds about the same as before.
The E-Mail thing took me a while, as I didn't really use my adelphia.net address...but with a password change online, and the "webedge" address (above) to reach the new home of the old Adelphia webmail, it works fine now.
