Change my MTU

I have a Lan card, VIA Rhine II Fast ethernet adapter. It's MTU is 1500. I want to change it to 1480.

I tried to use the DRTCP program that i downloaded from this site. But it didn't change my Lan card's MTU. It only change the WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface to 1480.

here's my computer info:
OS: XP service pack 2
Ethernet PPPoE
ISP: DSL Broadband
Speed: 768 kbps

I am using a wired router ADSL. Please someone help me.

MTU standard size for FastEthernet is 1500. You do not need to change that.

If you want to change the MTU for your connection, you should do it on your modem/router. Always use the recommended settings by the provider.
