AT&T DSL and Vonage

We have AT&T 3 Mbps DSL that used a 2Wire HomePortal 1000SW, with ethernet feeding a Vonage box, then to a Linysys wireless router. A laptop and printer worked from the Linksys wirelessly, and a desktop via ethernet. The Vonage box feeds 4 DECT 6.0 phones.

Everything worked well until three weeks ago, when the 2Wire failed, and the problems started. AT&T replaced it with a 2Wire 2701HG-B, and in the process took the Linksys out of the circuit. Now the laptop and printer connect wirelessly with the 2Wire, with the Vonage box coming off that, with the desktop hardwired to the Vonage box. We've had nothing but problems ever since. If I'm on the web and my wife makes a call, either the phone or the internet goes down, or both. I can't use AOL IM while she's on the phone either. I moved the 2Wire from between the desktop and an APC backup device to a shelf above everything else (how cheaply made is this thing???), and that seems to have helped a bit, but we're still knocking each other off the phone/internet.

I've been on the phone with AT&T tech support, Vonage tech support, HP tech support, Dell tech support...and all I'm getting is a large runaround, except the Vonage people seem to know what they're doing. I need suggestions and help to get my network back where it was before the modem failure.
