Today is Christmas (merry Christmas everyone!), and I think many people are staying home because most places are closed.
And since people are staying home, there goes a downside - the download speed is very slow (peak hour slow), even at noon now. Usually I get about top speed this time.
I think this further confirms my theory that many of my neighbors use cable internet and the cable system can hardly handle it.

I noticed that some popular web sites seemed slower than usual, but not file downloads via Usenet. So in my case at least, slowness was evidently caused by site traffic rather than cable use in my area. :)

and tonight, new year's eve (well, now passed 12 already, but anyway), I got the speed of more than 2mb download. I think it is because many people are out celebrating so less people using the internet?
usually it is about 1mb.
