Yeah, So, Ive had this earthlink service for a long time. And it is really slow... I rarely get into the 90kb/sec range. I'm NOT sure what exact service I have, But I have a cable modem. Here is my speedtest results:

Is this normal rofl? How can I boost my speed?

what is the speed of the plan?

What are the modem signal levels? Incorrect levels can prevent you from getting the proper speed.

Try using the Tools section to the Left, then Tweak your settings using the suggested methods.

7Mbps service (new to Earthlink but same spped as TWC/RR):

Uhh.. Yeah, Im still here lol, With my uber slow download speeds..

I'm not quite sure of the package, But I know it's cable.

About a week ago I switched from RR to Earthlink. It's the same cable infrastructure, same SB5101 Cable Modem, same 7Mbps service plan.

Speedtest.net remains rather consistent at just under 7Mbps down as shown above.

The Speed test under DSLR Tools (Java) is 50/50 where sometimes the speed is comparable to Speedtest, sometimes the down speed is less than 4Mbps. Similar with MySpeed.visualware tests where the results vary widely. Under both the QOS MOS rating is sometimes 2.5, sometimes the MOS score is 4.0.

VOIP doesn't sound like I'm having quality issues.

TWC/RR was always consistent with these tests.

Anyone have a similar experience since it makes no sense to me that the service should be any different. Heck, TWC is even handling the billing -on the same billing format.

Stumped.
