Their plan is to increase the number of HD channels to 100 by the end of the year, adding new HD channels weekly until the end of the year. Southern ME is first on the list. York, Cumberland, etc. York, i believe, is already up to about 100. They will be getting to other areas by the end of the year.
Boy you werent kidding! I just checked York counties (non-Adelphia areas) channel line up and they are up to 97 available HD channels...Granted, much of these are the various movie channel feeds..I guess every one counts though! I can only hope the York county ex-Adelphia areas will come along soon! ;)

Good luck with that. I tried, but the rules on networks are so complicated and arduous that it is very difficult. You'd better be prepared to loose CBS, FOX, and PBS completely, unless you are willing to install a powered roof antenna to get them over-the-air. And, in that case, you'll be loosing any "advanced" features like program guides and dvrs on those channels. You will probably be able to get ABC and NBC's national feeds from the satellite, but you'll have to wait at least 45 days for the waiver process to go through. Also, they will cost you extra.

Personally, I really don't care about the networks, but my wife does. Most of the shows on the networks are really crappy and the few that I do watch, I'd be content to get on Blu-ray from Netflix. I'm not sure if you are married but, if you are, a happy wife is more valuable than all the HD channels in the world!

Re: New HD channels in Aroostook County Finally!

Well i have the verdict. Its good news and bad news the good is that we will have 100 HD channels here in Aroostook. The bad news is we have to wait a whole year........told to me by a tech that installed a new service at a friends house. A fiber optic cable is being run up from Bangor to allow us to share there HD channel feeds. So at some point in the near future Bangor will Also have 100 HD channels.

I don't know what to think.

Re: New HD channels in Aroostook County Finally!

We'll I look back on all the posts that I've made and I now realize that we need to just wait and see what happens. Clearly except for a select few no one that works for TWC knows what there talking about. We have 15 New Additions in the count bardo77n has listed most of them.

Bio HD
Disney HD
Disney XD HD
ABC Family
Discovery HD
TLC HD
Animal Planet HD
Science HD
Nat Geo HD
Cartoon Network HD
E! HD
Hallmark HD
Speed HD
FX HD
Espn U

This brings our total to 41 with Premiums. Still missing NBC, ABC, Fox, and the CW for networks not my big concern but important to many.

I've also noticed in the diagnostic screens that some of the channels have frequencies above 750 does this indicate that our system has been updated to 870?

Yes there are multiple frequencies with 3 HD channels, im still looking through but the highest one I see is 753. Does this mean the system has been upgraded or is a 750 system more like 755?

I think I read on here before, at least in Comcast areas, if they keep the system clean(?) they can stuff some channels up just above 750. If it does not go beyond 753, I think it is still 750.

So is my system full or can they cram more channels in with SDV?
What is your system down there?

swintec @ 2nd Nov 05:02PM:
Re: New HD channels in Aroostook County Finally!

I am not sure what i am...I think 750..and we are at about 90 HD channels now. If you take off analogs and move them around to digital you could fit more and more.

I know it if there were no Analog channels on the system then you could have all the HD channels that you want.

Some parts of Maine are getting Motorola MTR700's. The MTR700 is the Motorola Tuning adapter that is being handed out for Tivo owners so they can view the SDV channels.
