Hi,

I use Cisco VPN and have get wireless from Comcast. I have been logging into VPN and then using remote desktop to connect to my work computer for almost 2 years. Suddenly, on the evening of July 8, 2009, I am unable to connect to anything after I log in to the VPN. I have no problem getting authenticated to the VPN, but then I lose all internet and remote desktop capabilities, as well as ftp and ping.

I tried two other wireless connections at a cafe and a mall and had no problem.

Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences?

You may be having the same problem I'm having with my RVL200, which uses the Cisco tunnel. It appears that the Certificate expired some time in July 2009, which means that IE will not allow the necessary ActiveX control to run/install. I posted on the Linksys/Cisco forum, but no response so far.

Was there ever any response on this? I tried Linksys/Cisco chat before I started looking around, but got immediately directed to customer support which is now closed.

One work around is to add the RVL200's portal page to the Trusted Sites of the Internet Explorer and set the Security Level of Trusted Sites to Low to bypass the checking on the certificates of ActiveX add-ons. This works for me. Further directions on how to do this can be found at the following URLs.

It is pretty amazing that they set the certificate to expire in 2009. I suppose they thought that we would have all been generating our own by this point?

The last post was on September 10th, nothing since then. I guess they'll come up with new firmware which will have an updated certificate. Or something.
