Creating a VPN for a stanalone LAN?

Hi,

I want to create a VPN inside my LAN for a standalone PC with a Linksys BEFX41 router. I have only ONE PC wored to it and I want to know how can create a VPN inside my LAN only to surf the web and stuff?

So in other words, I want to setup a VPN between my PC and my router.

Thanks.

Why would you want to if there's only 1 PC connected to the router?

Your router would need to be a VPN end-point. The BEFSX41 doesn't support this.

Linksys seems to indicate otherwise...

Thanks for double-checking me. I believe I was confusing his wirt a BEFSR41. The plain-vanilla wired model that I used to own.

I had one of the first BEFSR41 routers. I think I paid $180 or so for it way back when after a lot of sweet talking my wife... ;)

I still have, I think, a Network Everywhere NR041 which is basically a BEFSR41 clone but in a smaller package. I'm not really sure why I keep it other than for ol' times sake so to speak...
