Does anyone use the D-Link VWR router ?

Is anyone currently using the the D-Link VWR router with Vonage ? If so, could you please look at the main page what is the firmware version ? It shows up right on the loging page (»192.168.15.1), under "VoIP Wireless Router" and looks something like "VWR-11.4.1-r060815-1.00.04-r070401.img"

I WAS using that router (for a short time). I tried to use it after I cancelled the Vonage service, and it won't work. I thought it would at least work as a router once I cancelled Vonage. I guess I would be wrong. Anyway, the only place for this thing now is as a paperweight or the garbage. It never did work right, even when I did have the Vonage service.

Mine is: VWR-11.4.1-r060815-1.00.04-r070401.img1
I've had it over 2 years, no issues.

Thanks ! That's the newest version I found too, but I was under the impression that a newer one existed. Maybe I was wrong :(

There probably is one I havn't looked. If I find a newer one, I'll let you know. DOn't hold your breath, Vonage has discontinued the VWR so when it goes south, you're back to their standard adapter and your own standalone router.

I use the D-Link VWR.
I have the same firmware level as you noted you have.
Per a thread on vonage-forums, Vonage/D-Link were supposedly due to release firmware version 12 in May 2009. It never happened. Others on the thread report no firmware updates as of September 2009.
Users report many issues. I can confirm two:
- Router loses all config settings in power outage (including its name, router admin password and WPA settings -- security risk much?)
- Router apparently provides no QoS (Vonage voice packets don't get priority versus other network packets)
Others recommend getting the basic V-Portal, instead. I concur.
