Norwich....anyone down?
Hello, is anyone's DSL down in Norwich? We are in the Salem Turnpike area and our connection has been down since about 7pm last night.

Just an update.....bad card in the RT.
They have to refer it to cable repair. They "might" get to it today.
This isn't good!

No, probably something more reliable, like a T1.
We realize it will be much more expensive, but it will also be reliable!
Forgot to mention.... this is a business.

Doesn't Comcast have a bandwidth limit of some sort now?

Do you know what the bandwidth cap is per month/week? For a gamer, this isn't good news.

gaming, surfing, and email is fine. you'll never reach the cap of 250 GB.
but if you're downloading ISO files/movies, streaming media, P2P apps or anything else that can be considered a large/continuous download, you have the possibility to reach the 250 GB cap.
as in my case, i have a Netflix account. i stream movies through my Samsung Blu-ray player. (thanks to dadkins for pointing me to Samsung products, God rest his soul.) if i watch 50 movies in the course of the month, i would reach the 250 GB cap with just that alone. needless to say that i don't actually have the time to watch 50 movies myself in the course of a month. but combine streaming movies (in a family of 4, which includes 2 children that watch movies), watching YouTube, downloading/streaming music, and other bandwidth intensive applications, you might have the possibility of reaching the 250 GB cap.
the 250 GB cap is for people trying to set up a web server, a file server, heavy P2P users and folks like that.

It appears Comcast is anti business to impose such a cap. Whoever thought of this to punish all of its end users merely because a dozen people download music and movies all the time has too many holes in their heads. It's backwards to punish all for the actions of maybe 5 %. What does businesses do, as any medium sized establishment can easily surpass that if videoconferencing, transfering large files, etc.?

Comcast is taking on the Military mentality with this action. one person screws up, you all must pay. that will straighten all of you out and keep you all from even thinking about doing such a thing ever again.

Re: Norwich....anyone down?
I am just curious how many people left Comcast because of this. They should be lucky that DSL via SATV isn't like TV, and providing real competition. I'd get T1 before having to dicker with them if am running a medium or large business. It may cost more, but spares the headaches in long run.
