Vonage Fees increased .50 cents from last month!

They also changed some wording around as well

July Bill

Regulatory Recovery Fee 99 cents
Emergency 911 Cost Recovery 99 cents
Federal Program Fee $2.05

August Bill

Regulatory and Compliance Fee $1.49
Emergency 911 Service Fee $1.49
Federal Program Fee $2.41

That is some hefty 1 month fees...did anyone else get their bill higher because of these so called fees

Yup, me too. $15.73 for the 100 minute $9.99 plan.

Yes, the wording was changed to make it very clear that the actual amount charged has nothing to do with what Vonage is paying. They are purely increased pricing.

Well yes and no. My state has a $6 billion budget gap and cell phones are free money. They go up a few cents just about every month. 28% of my cell phone bill is taxes and tariffs. And they are deducted from the top line not the bottom line after discounts. Current course and speed taxes and tariffs will be 50% of the cell phone bill around 2012 or so.

well I look today and again another fee has been added, country 911. just a bit over 60 cents!

I am done with vonage and plan on canceling my service with them. I can't stand that they continue to pile on fees.

Just looked at my last CallCentric bill. Nope, no increase. I'm still paying less per month than what I used to pay on just the taxes and surcharges with Vonage.

For the value and quality service I get with Vonage (only went down 1 time in 8 years, and even then calls were routed to my cellphone) I'd GLADLY pay an extra .50 any day. I'll stick with Vonage.

Same here!

Regulatory and Compliance Fee $1.49
Federal Program Fee $2.41

Unless you've had a lobotomy, you know that these are not gov't mandated fees. It's just a way of keeping the advertised monthly price low while actually increasing the price and profit margin.

Vonage has become the telco that they originally wanted to displace.

None the less, it's more irritating to be nickle and dimed by the Great State of NC month after month. Every month there's some new duty, tariff or tax.

Yes, it's a way to mask their operating costs without having to advertise their real rates. Their marketing and other overhead costs are enormous, I suspect their market penetration has peaked and churn is taking its toll. Thus, the fees go up and up.
