[Need Info] columbus oh, $60 bundle
I received a letter in the mail offering a $60 bundle for economy cable, economy phone and economy internet. The fine print does not really give any details other than saying you must have a receiver for each tv. Does anyone have any more info on this such as the internet speed or how many channels are included?

I am a current Insight customer, with only Broadband 10.0 (no basic, classic, or digital cable service). I have received two of these offers in the mail recently. One identifies me as a selected recipient of Insight preferred pricing, with a $30 cable package that includes, reading from the fine print:
1) Basic and Digital 4.0 with HD/DVR
2) 1 connection
3) Valid only for residential customers who do not currently subscribe to cable services, and only during the promotional period
4) Promotional rates valid for one year
5) HD Receiver ($15.95/mo. for each additional and for DVR features) and HDTV set required to receive HD channels
6) Offer excludes all applicable taxes, installation fees, activation fees, etc.
The offer has a discount code and number to call. All sounds good, considering I should be able to get Broadband 10.0 + Digital 4.0 w/ HDDVR for only $75.00/month if I understand correctly ($45.00/month currently for broadband, plus the $30.00/month special offer bundle for cable).
I plan on calling this week to inquire.

Re: [Need Info] columbus oh, $60 bundle
Just got off the phone with Insight here in Louisville, Ky and the promotional $60 bundle that is advertised in their mailings is applicable to current customers who subscribe to only one of the three basic services.
To add the other two services, plus free showtime for one year, the charge is $60.00 additional dollars to what you already pay for the first service (per month). Installation fee is $15.00 and includes 1 digital cable box and replacement VOIP modem for your Insight phone service. HD/DVR box and service is additional, starting at $10.00/month.
So the offer is not really anything new... prices are in line with their current 2- or 3-service bundles.

I am not a current customer so I am not sure if I received the same bundle offer as you. It says in the fine print only available to new customers who do not subscribe to any insight services. It is good thru end of October so I plan to call sometime before then.

Re: [Need Info] columbus oh, $60 bundle
PLEASE don't take this posting as totally negative against Insight, but as a company they do things much differently than Time Warner which I had for 12 years and was used to.
Previously I lived in a house on the south side but not I live in a large apartment complex in Reynoldsburg and Insight is the only cable service choice we have, plus Dish Network satellite.
Insight prices things differently than Time Warner. Insight offers their first 90 channels broken down into Classic and Basic service and says you get 90 channels between the 2 services. However 15 of the channels them are empty with no content whatsoever if you don't have a cable modem hooked to the TV. The charge for Classic & Basic TV service is $40.00, of which $13.00 is for the Basic channels and the rest is for the Classic channels. So you can get TV service without paying for a cable modem but you need an cable ready TV with a incoming CAT-5 jack on the back or some other kind of incoming jacks for the TV signals to get directly to your TV.
I have the Classic & Basic service only on a bedroom TV so no modem needed and the bill shows charges only for the TV with the modem which is in the livingroom. The modem gives me the same Classic & Basic channels as without the modem but the 15 empty channels have a station but they're still really the same channels as the Classic & Basic but broken down into categories thus making it appear that you're really getting alot more channels but really aren't, plus alot of different music channels which come through the TV speakers or a home theatre setup whatever you have. Bottom line is that my TV service costs me $55.00 a month.
Internet service with the standard speeds of 7Megs down/512K up is $30.00
I also have their telephone service with unlimited local and long distance calls which I consider to be their best deal. It comes with call waiting, caller ID, 3 way calling, voice mail and some special phone features for blocking incoming calls and other nifty things. It's a flat fee of $25.00
With the other typical fees and charges that all cable companies charge my monthly bill is $126.46
I know this is a little confusing but I hope that helps answer your question.
If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll reply. I just hope my post doesn't get removed as it's rather negative against Insight which doesn't impress me at all.
Mike

Thanks for the info. I have not called Insight yet but plan on doing so before the "special" bundle expires

I think he might be referring to the set-top box. They seem to give them out like candy and then charge you for it.
