Not Quite Home/Office, but not Big Iron either...

Been doing a install for a client in Swansea, this is in a Industrial Unit which is being converted to house a trade counter as well as warehouse space for parts, offices and a showroom.
I'll start with Day2 (Day 1 we just put up some racking) and then the other few days. We're not complete yet, but the bulk of the cable is in place. Just waiting on CCTV, Server, UPS and final Patch/Terminate.
Day 2 saw the bulk of the cable tray being Hung, with additional pieces going up on Day 3 and Day 5.

Day3 saw Additional Basket, Lighting installed in the trade counter area, initial power cabling for the trade counter and goods-in bench, cctv wiring for that area also, dado rail in the two offices cabled for power & data.

Day 4 saw the chippies finish the trade counter and build the partition wall for the goods-in bench. We then were able to run data wiring, hang some additional basket and install dado for data & power on the goods-in bench. Additional dado was put down the wall by the counter to bring the data cabling under the counter, and sockets installed on there for the CCTV Monitor and Coffee Machine power.

Day 5 wasn't particuarly interesting, extra bit of basket and some modification to lighting inside, and two external lights. I've started to get the rack cabling setup, and the new distribution board is installed.

As you can see, it's mostly done now, just finishing things off at the moment :) Days 6 & 7 were long slogs getting things in place, and looks like I'll be back for another day next week :)

If you don't mind my asking, how is pay for IT work in the UK?
I have family there and kind of want to go out there to be close to them. They live in the Southern part of England by Bath/Bristol.

I know experience is a variable but I have about 10 years of experience, a degree etc etc...

I think as with anything it all depends on what you can get. I've worked for this company for nearly 10 years now, and I charge them a reasonable rate for this sort of installation as I know I'll have the on-going work to subsidise it a bit.
Working freelance, I typically charge around £150/day (10-hour) doing event power work, and a similar sum for the IT stuff I do.
I do sell a lot of hardware though, so that does factor into it.
