Quick Reply - auto-follow (disable it?)
I've been using the quick reply function regularly, but it seems like any time you Quick reply to a topic it is automatically added to your follow list.
I don't want this. Is there a way to disable it? I poked around through my preferences and couldn't find it, hence my post here.

That is not particularly related to "quick reply". If you post in the thread in any manner, you are automatically set to follow that thread.
This seems right to me. If you post in a thread, that's a decision to participate in that discussion. And therefore you should be following the thread.
You can always opt on of individual threads, either with the "Stop Following" at the end of the page, or with the stop boxes in your updated-followed list.

It seems anytime you reply to a thread you automatically become a follower.
You can simply stop following by clicking the stop following link right at the bottom of the thread.

Hm, maybe I was jumping the gun.
I thought that when I was "following" a thread that meant I was going to get e-mail notifications as well, but that must be a different option. I guess I don't care after all - I just don't want every thread I reply in sending me e-mails. :)

That's a different option. There's a box you can select when posting that sets this. Whatever you set your preference to becomes the default for future posts.
