[CATV] WGN America HD -Lexington

Evidently,here in Lexington,this channel has been added to the HD lineup.Watching White Sox in HD on channel 940.

There is nothing new here in New Albany, IN. Maybe they are slowly pushing out new HD channels. But WGN and Lifetime are not that big of a deal to me. At least you might get some HD baseball games on WGN.

Yeah,the Cubs and White Sox games are all in HD,as is the weekly Bulls game they show.

I'm in NKY too. I looked on the guide and only count 7

Fox Business, CNBC, Big Ten, ESPN News, WGN, Speed, and ABC Family

What other channels am I missing?

Still nothing here in Louisville. I wonder how Insight decides how and when they add HD channels to areas. Columbus, Northern Kentucky, and Lexington have added at least WGN, and Lifetime in the past two weeks. I am not sure about Bowling Green. I am just wondering??

FYI, I called Insight here in NKY to get some info on the new channels as I thought it was suspicious they haven't updated the channel listing as of this post. The rep said that additional HD channels should be coming between now and November. The rep also gave me the web address of their new website www.myinsight.com. It's a nice looking website and fairly easy to maneuver. At any rate, if you look up the hd channels there it shows several that we do not currently have. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Lugnut,

I think some of whats added had to do with that survey that insight conducted last year. I think last november insight added a core of HD channels to all markets based on the ones that were chosen most in the survey. Then some markets got a few more based on the results of the survey in that market. I noticed that in some of the posts above channels were added to some areas this week that we have had here in bowling green for nearly a year such as WGN. We have not had SPEED HD here where some in other areas do. We are supposed to have ours added sometime during the night tonight. We will see what it is.

I have also heard through the grapevine that the BIG CHANGE Willner refers to in his blog will be Insight Digital 5.0 which is due around the end of the year. Supposedly more HD, on demand, a 30 meg internet tier, and remote DVR access, but who knows. Heck maybe they will fix it where i can push a button on the remote and it will fetch me a beer from the fridge, then i would never have to get out of the chair again :)

FSN South HD
Cartoon Network HD
Disney XD HD
Lifetime HD
Lifetime Movies HD
Speed HD

Lots of new stuff on the on demand menu as well

Still nothing new here in Louisville. Now with Bowling Green and Columbus having those channels, I wonder when Louisville, Northern Kentucky and Evansville will get them. Like I have said before most of those channels do not get me excited, expect for FSN South. They need to add Golf Network HD, Versus HD, and a few other channels that actually carry shows in HD. Most of these other channels that are being added just up convert the SD picture so that it will fit the screen.

Anybody from Evansville, or Northern Kentucky areas have the channels that or now in Bowling Green?

I am shocked that they are actually adding new HD channels without promoting the heck out of it...

Really hope we get TCM HD here soon in Evansville...

Over the years I have been a guinea pig of sorts for insight. They will stick new equipment in my house from time to time and I will shake it down and find the bugs. As a result I have developed a relationship with some of them. I just pick up the phone and ask. If they know, they will usually tell me.

..what channels are scheduled to be release? Are the new channels the same in every market? I know that Columbus has had all of the channels that you have reported already. Does Insight plan on getting any more HD channels soon, besides the one that you have told us about already? Thanks so much for your reply.

I have no idea lugnut. Something is supposed to happen in columbus on 10/1 but I dont know what sorry. It appears that there are 2 channel lineups for columbus so I dont know which one you have, but there are 5 HD channels that you have that we still dont have. You can confirm as we do not have:

BIO HD
Planet Green HD
Outdoor Channel HD
CBS College Sports HD
Encore HD

If you dont get those channels maybe thats whats on tap. I wish we had them

Here in Louisville we do not have any of the channels that you listed. Matter of fact we do not have any of the channels that you listed before (i.e. MSNBCHD, Cartoon HD, etc.) Maybe here in Louisville we will get all of those plus BIO, Planet Green, Outdoor, CBS, and Encore. Thanks again for your info.
