Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
My wireless 327W communicates fine with internet but appears to block uploads or directory retrieval to FTP client. Problem same with desktop PC or wireless laptop through same router. Website host says they find no problem. Other PCs have tried same task without problem. Anyone have similar FTP situation with this router/modem?

Re: Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
Just to clarify:
Are you running a FTP server, and remote clients cannot connect properly? Or is this a client on your network connecting to a remote server?
If the latter, I have not had any problems. I haven't tried running an FTP server, but wouldn't be surprised at difficulties there.
I had the 327w modem firewall turned off. If you have it on, that might block FTP.

Re: Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
I am using FTP client software (filezilla) to upload files from my PC to website host Godaddy. Have disabled Windows firewall which did not help. Can you advise how to disable 327W firewall? And thanks for the reply.

Log into your 327w, at 192.168.1.1 (that's the usual IP). There should be a menu item for "security". In the security settings you should be able to turn the firewall off.
Note that most of the firewall protection provided by the 327w will still be there, even with the firewall off. When the firewall is on, it restricts some ports, and that is what could be giving you problems.

Re: Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
Apparently 192.168.1.1 is kind of a universal IP for many other routers as well. Your info, however, is basically same given by Verizon. Currently having a problem with user/password access where even the default user/PW is not recognized. Will keep working at it and let you know.

Re: Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
My understanding is that the verizon install procedures set the modem password to be the same as your verizon password. However, that would be what your verizon password was at the time the modem was installed. It could be different from your current verizon password.
If all else fails, there's a reset button to restore the modem to factory defaults. After that, you would have to reconfigure for your requirements (and any ISP requirements).

Sorry for delay in replying. Verizon does suggest resetting all configurations if you elect to reset to default, which gave me pause. Will talk to Verizon support on Tuesday.

Re: Problem with 327W communicating with FTP client
Verizon tech support chat line determined that "hard reset" was only solution to gain access to firewall settings, which as you advised would result in a reconfigure of all settings. Chat was followed by telephone call to Verizon and walkthrough to reconfigure. Changed "No Security" to "Minimum security" setting. Seems to work now.
