How do I check SNR?
I tried searching here, all I found is people talking about their signal levels, but how do you actually get those readings?
I have both a scientific atlanta SD and HD box, I figure it's the same procedure for all their boxes.

Re: How do I check SNR?
Just go to your box and hold the Select Button on the box. When thee mail light starts blinking, quickley find the Guide and Info button and it them at the same time.
If you have the SARAH guide, it will say One Moment Please... and then look at the yellow siginal level.
A -7 DB is a great siginal. If it is under -4 DB you may need to check your cables.

On Samsung boxes you can hold select then press up on the remote to access the diag menu.

I thought it was down. On my H3050 it was select, then down.

Re: How do I check SNR?
That accesses the ODN diagnostic menu and not the Samsung menu. This is for the 3090, 3260, and 3270 boxes. Maybe the 3050 is like that. That does give you the SnR ratings.

My S/N number says 36...
Is that good or bad?

36 db is quite good. Mine is a little higher but still ok.

Re: How do I check SNR?
Is this number (S/N), the number the customer support checks when they remotely check your "signal strength"?

OK, what are the other "signal strength" indicators I should look for in addition to S/N?
