Re: Woohoo

I doubt it. Looking at the video, you can see the excess leaves that are left behind and then the camera zooms more to the front of the device. Cutting off the viewer from seeing the debris left behind.

... HEAVY RAINS AND STRONG WINDS EXPECTED LATE MONDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...

MOISTURE FROM THE REMNANTS OF SUPER TYPHOON MELOR CONTINUES TO MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PACIFIC OCEAN AND IS FORECAST TO REACH THE WEST COAST BY MONDAY EVENING. COMPUTER MODELS COMBINE THIS MOISTURE WITH A POWERFUL JET STREAM AND DEVELOP A STRONG STORM THAT MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION FOR THE INTERIOR OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY ALONG WITH STRONG WINDS.

PRECIPITATION LOOKS TO BEGIN IN THE COASTAL RANGE AS EARLY AS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND WILL SPREAD INLAND ACROSS THE INTERIOR OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. PERIODS OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION ARE POSSIBLE LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT WITH MORE SHOWERY WEATHER LIKELY WEDNESDAY. PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND AN INCH OR TWO WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES POSSIBLE IN THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS. SNOW LEVELS MAY LOWER TO AROUND 7500 FT MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING WHICH COULD AFFECT TRAVEL FOR CARSON PASS ON HIGHWAY 88... EBBETS PASS ON HIGHWAY 4... AND SONORA PASS ON HIGHWAY 108. SNOW LEVELS EXPECTED TO RISE BY TUESDAY NIGHT UP TO AROUND 10000 FT.

STRONG WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME IT APPEARS WINDS IN PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL VALLEY COULD REACH SUSTAINED SPEEDS IN THE 25 TO 35 MPH RANGE WITH HIGHER GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH. WIND IN THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS COULD BE STRONGER WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH OR MORE. WINDS OF THESE SPEEDS MAY CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND DOWN BRANCHES OR TREES.

LOOK FOR MORE DETAILED STATEMENTS TO BE ISSUED AS THE STORM GETS CLOSER.

Hmm, my post is gone, strange....

It's the left over typhoon that hit Japan, so it could be a real decent storm. I see two bands off the coast, so it will be a one two punch.

Got new windshield wipers today at Pep Boys in preparation. They even put them on for free. I'm watching my grandson's this week, getting them off to school, breakfast, etc. until their Dad gets home from work around 4:00. So I'm commuting this week to Union City. :D

These 5 am mornings don't cut it anymore either.

sfromsf, you were right about dogs not wanting to go outside. I carried Ben outside this morning and he ran inside and hid from me. :D So I left6 some puppy pads down for him but he didn't use them. :o And it doesn't seem like he peed any place in side either.

The rain stopped in Alameda as soon as I got back from UC so I took him for a fast walk. He peed for almost 5 minutes. :D He was not very happy with me for making him go on a walk. He doesn't like wet grass or sidewalks.

yeah luckily the rain let up here enough for us to have a dry walk.

though I did lose one tree and the other is ready to go.
These are both under three years old and the roots were so shallow they just lifted out from the water saturation and wind.

Got back home at 2 PM, the house gutters were overflowing despite being clean.

My phone service is down and isn't expected to be repaired until Thursday. I swear, the first rain of the season always kills my phone service. Every year for a decade now. Two years ago, it was down for almost three weeks. AT&T is pathetic.

It was insane. I actually got off the freeway (92 in Fremont) because I couldn't see anything even doing 35mph. That was about 3:30pm. As it let up a little I got back on, then it started pouring again. Half way through the San Mateo bridge it just stopped. Literally. My wind shield wipers went from the fastest setting to off in 10 seconds. I've never seen anything like that.
