What does the router do when DoS [TCP Syn Flood] is detected

I am curious to know what the router does when a DoS [Denial of Service] Attack - TCP Syn Flood - is detected AND the "Flooding cracker block time" has expired....

I suspect the router stop transmitting the offending frames to the LAN side; however, does anyone know if the router [in the case a 2804wbrp-g] send anything out to the WAN Side ?

.
