Re: Tomato/MLPPP v3 alpha 6 released!

I am not sure what the 1:1 NAT issue is? Does it work or not if I have TekSavvy's extra pool of IPs, so if I have the first static IP which is assigned to my PPPoE login and then I purchase an additional pool of 2 or more IPs will Tomato support this?

Also can I take the other IPs and assign them to local IPs on the router itself?

example router:

IP: 10.0.0.1
GW: 255.255.255.0

Internet IP: 76.120.xxx.xxx
Pool IPs: 76.149.xxx.1/2

and then from inside the Tomato I can assign 10.0.0.5 to 76.149.xxx.1 and 10.0.0.6 to 76.149.xxx.2 ?

This way on my firewall I can assign 10.0.0.4 to 6 to it! :)

I also notice the "Waiting Icon" is missing in your builds. The icons near the refresh that basically a spinning ring. Just cosmetic, wanted to let you know.I think its called spin.gif and supposed to be in the root.

its called /www/_spin.gif for whatever reason in alpha6

Re: Tomato/MLPPP v3 alpha 6 released!

Looks like dropbear is also broken? Can anyone else SSH into the router?

# dropbear -s 22 -F
Aiee, segfault! You should probably report this as a bug to the developer

every time i try to login to the router through ssh.

maybe the /etc/dropbear/dropbear_rsa_host_key is corrupt, it seems 1 byte shorter than in the 1.25,specifically its missing the the two "==" at the end of the key.

Finally loaded the new firmware. Had an unscheduled power outage so good time to do that before the next one hits. Works great thanks DSL Ricer and Guspaz.

Exactly what 1:1 Nat does.

Local IP's to Public both inbound and outbound.

Your examples above is exactly how it works

Also see a

Failed reading '/etc/dropbear/dropbear_dss_host_key', disabling DSS

in the logs, seems to leaning towards a corrupt key.

Awesome, now I can test out the TCP Vegas feature and see if it ends up working better than QOS.

Thanks again for the great work guys, keep it up :D

Re: Tomato/MLPPP v3 alpha 6 released!

Since alpha version 6 is my FIRST EVER use of Tomato, you'll have to bare with me, as I have nothing to it compare against. I'm solely using it as a means to circumvent throttling here.

Just started noticing I'm getting very poor performance (in some cases I'm still being completely throttled on some torrents) when connected to my WRT54G. Interestingly, when I bypass it and do a direct modem connection and use Windows built-in software MLPPP option, everything works beautifully...torrent speeds are optimal and there's no sign of being throttled.

Is there some option I've missed in the router setup? After installing alpha 6, all I did was set MLPPP to 'single link', nothing else. I heard a mention of QoA, should this be enabled? (in my settings it's currently disabled).

I don't know what is happening but it is not "being throttled". If Qos is disabled it should be fine perhaps Guspaz might have some ideas.

Upgraded.

Everything's working fine thus far.

Thanks for the hard work to everyone involved with this firmware. Without it, I wouldn't be with Teksavvy.

What's MSS?

I just did this and it worked. Then I changed option one by one, so far it's still working. :) I have not input my QoS settings yet.

At the first time, I did this:
1. Upgraded from 1.21mp3a4 to 1.25mp3a6;
2. reset NVRAM
3. change options manually.
I have the same problem as Redfox, when i run in single link PPP, my web browsing gets slower and and websites are page cannot be displayed. If i turn off Single Layer PPP, the issue goes away. I configured QOS and my router as per »mlppp.teksavvy.com/tomato_sl.html. What can I do to fix this?

I have Velcom, too.

Thanks!

That setup was specific to Teksavvy as I remember. Leave MTU and MRRU in "Automatic". And LCP Echo Interval should be 5, LCP Echo Adaptive Interval: 0.

I am with Velcom and don't have any problems.

Re: Tomato/MLPPP v3 alpha 6 released!

Perhaps you're using an application with broken upnp support?

The upnp daemon changed (as in, completely different) in alpha 6 (mainline Tomato changed it), but we don't have any patches for it at the moment (haven't ported the 1:1 NAT UPnP stuff over yet).

Re: Tomato/MLPPP v3 alpha 6 released!

Any chance of integrating the fixes from the beta 1.26 versions of Tomato?

Some of the updates look relevant to the cause (i.e. updated miniupnpd, busybox etc)

No. We will never merge beta code into Tomato/MLPPP. It's a recipe for disaster.
