New HD Addiitions to Aroostook County November 15

Hello all I have some great news.

The Aroostook County head end is going to be using switched digital video any time now. I have confirmed with a phone tech that Fifteen New Additions are being added they are

Biography, Disney, Disney XD, ABC Family, Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Science Channel, Nat Geo, FX, Speed, ESPN U, Cartoon Network, E!, and Hallmark Movie Channel.

This is great news and I hope all frustrated Aroostook county customers will be relieved at least a little to hear this.

Does anyone know when SDV will be rolled out in Aroostook?

Although IF this happens it is good news. My real issue is the lack of locals in HD. If ABC/FOX/NBC were in HD I would be ok with waiting for the "premium" channels

The locals will not be in HD until the new fiber optic cable is run up from Bangor. Confirmed by a TWC rep.

What is their excuse on Fox? That is broadcast out of PI.

I fail to believe that in 2009/2010, the right cable from Bangor to PI has not been run. I can't imagine why they would need a fiber optic cable when we don't need it for NESNHD- is their a cable run from Boston?

Directv can beam NBC out of Bangor to Aroostook County but the cable company can't? What do all of those dishes on the top of State St. for?

If it is true that they need a cable, what have they been waiting for? Did they think that HD was going to be a fad that would go away?

I don't have a lot of faith in anything the techs are saying. All I know is that I pay the same price for my cable as those in Southern Maine and my product is far inferior.

No same here no one knows what there talking about. Wagm itself claims that they cannot broadcast two HD channels at the same time. I myself do not understand this.
