Excellent electrical setup

Okay, I know this stretches the definition of "setup" but what does it take to motivate an electrician to do this kind of work? I know a few good electricians, and like to think I'm one too, in my amateur kind of way, but this really raises it to a new level.

Anybody got any other pics of great residential high voltage buildouts?

YEP! :D

I've seen this type of quality on some construction sites, it depends on the "sparky" and the contractor as to the quality.

To do this level of work takes more time, but not that much extra!

Re: Excellent electrical setup

Sorry, before I posted I looked for quite awhile on that site and others and couldn't find a better example.

I have seen this kind of work before in my travels and with a much bigger panel, too. The inside of the panel was organized similarly, with printed shrink-tubing labels on all the separated conductors.

It's pretty rare, but I gotta believe it doesn't take THAT much more time! In my house, I've found one place where the romex is actually tangled they installed it so fast! All the outlets are backstabbed (which I'm correcting over time) which leads to flickering lights and probably power surges. New construction electricians often just don't take the time to do it well--probably because the bosses and construction budgets don't allow for that.

Three words..

Offering the installer extra money to do the job right and not rush it.

Most installers can't take that amount of time to do that kind of work.

Re: Excellent electrical setup

I noticed the size of the panel, plus the size of the add-on panel. That would mean LOTS of circuits.

Plus, the telephone interface being inside the building indicates to me that this is probably a commercial installation.

I am surprised that with all the careful work on the electrical system, the insulation is hanging down loose.

Re: Excellent electrical setup

eh, i wouldn't rule out a resi install. Our house setup isn't as clean as that (sadly), but we are running off 2 40 banks (2nd is about 1/2 full) and the telco / network is about the same way.
