[CATV] OK...when do we get new HD channels?
I know that this has been talked about a lot, but it has been a slow day here and work and I wanted to see what everybody thinks about their "new HD channels" that they are getting since the BIG 5.0 change happened. Also wanted to see when people think that we will be getting more HD channels? In the little insert that I got in the mail they said that they have add HD channels and that more is on the way. How long do you think it will take? I figure it will be well after the first of the year before people here in Louisville see any more HD channels. And I am betting that those channels will be channels that Columbus or Bowling Green gets already. So I just want to throw it out there to everybody. What are your thoughts?

I think with Digital 7.43 due in 2026 we will pick up TBN-HD and HSN-HD !
By then the other Insight markets should be HD on all channels.
Does this tell you what I think about 5.0?

My concern would be the cost, right now cept for HDnet and stuff, our HD is free. If they give us more HD then they will start charging much higher prices.. i want much more HD but concern over prices.

Just remember Matt, The " most HD for free" statement that insight has been marketing for the last year is very decieving. Its only free for the subscribers that already have a HD DVR. If you dont it costs you $16 a month to get it.
5.0 has very little substance. Its all just a marketing tool to make you think theres something great and new. Its amazing to me the features that they advertise in 5.0 thats "new" when we have had those features for at least a year. The phrase they used in their 5.0 pre-launch advertising "more is not always better" makes perfect sense now.
Lugnut, I would say we are looking at another year before we get any major HD additions.
Insight has a good overall product (for cable) I just dont like their marketing tactics.
