[CATV] Severe Audio Static on Ch 2 in New York!

The audio on Channel 2 in Manhattan is severely distorted. It is hard to describe but it is scratchy - it sounds like static on top of the audio.

Channel 602 in HD is OK.

Same here. It's distorted, like when you turn the volume level all the way up on your TV or stereo and blow the speakers. (I'm in Queens, BTW)

Hey RCNman!

Any idea what the deal is with this? I'm about to watch 3 hours of football on this channel, and the sound is excruciating. I've been avoiding this channel for days, but I can't avoid it on Sunday!

Holy crap! Watching the Amazing Race was torture! Totally pinned and over-modulated. Didn't have time before I left the house this morning to check if it's been fixed, but it was terrible.

It's horrible, isn't it? And I thought the fuzzy picture on TBS was bad. This is like listening to a power drill along with all your programs.

It is bad. I haven't called RCN to report it because they won't believe me when I say it is widespread. They'll start sending signals to my box and reading from their script. I just can't fathom waiting on hold forever just to hear that.

Hopefully rcnman or someone else will see this and fix it. Meantime, it's channel 602 for me.

P.S. - My friend in the Gramercy Park area noticed it during "60 Minutes" last night too.

There's no channel 602 for me. :(

The Jets game was intolerable (and not for the usual reasons, heh) yesterday. I had a headache by the end and couldn't even watch 60 Minutes.

It was still really bad last time I checked around lunchtime (I work from home, so I can do that).
