Home Two Houses Down Can Get Faster Speeds?

So... It seems that Verizon has all but cancelled the FiOS rollouts in my area. They did all their painting on the street last year, but that was just weeks before the financial crash. Argh.

I'm currently on DSL Extreme's 3.0/768 plan in Verizon territory, obviously, which is the best I prequalify for. I started looking up my neighbors' addresses on DSL Extreme's site to see if faster speeds might be available.

It seems that starting literally two houses down, 7.1Mbps service is available.

Is there a fair chance that I could get it at my residence? Will DSL Extreme work with me and Verizon to get me qualified considering how close I am to being qualified?

I mean, if I can only get 5Mbps out of the 7.1Mbps service because I'm too far, that's still better than what I get now.

I would be happy to double check in the backend Verizon system to confirm what package you qualify for. Please feel free to send me a PM with your DSL Extreme account information.

Thanks

Thanks for the info.

I took a look at your current line readings and it appears you are barely holding sync at the 3360. Your line unfortunately wouldn't be able to hold higher than your current profile. Your line readings are below for your reference. Even if you qualified the line wouldn't be able to sustain it. My guess is that your neighbors line wouldn't be able to sustain it either.
