New 2 year offer with rate increase

Hi,

Just got letter from Charter detailing rate increases and an offer for a 2 year rate guarantee. Does anyone know - does the 2 year guarantee require phone service to be bundled with the package? I'm sure the phone service is fine but I no longer use a land line.

Yes it does include the phone, i also just got this package from them, but i already had phone through them so wasnt a big deal

Increase on cable basic by $5, reduction of expanded by $2. Saw this before on Dish, funny they always expanded channels before doing this.

Modem rental up by $2. Funny Time Warner included it in the price .

I got a similar letter yesterday detailing a rate increase of $3 for TV and $5 for my 10Mbps HSI. I haven't been on any special promotion for a long time, had been meaning to either switch or reduce services. Couple this with the flaky Moxi DVR box that continually threatens to shut itself off unless I have a fan blowing directly on it, and random channels just not coming in at all (like ABC HD last night), This just pushed it over the edge.

That Moxi box is already out in the open air and it still overheats, especially when recording. I've had techs out to look at the signal strength and check/replace wiring already. This is unacceptable. The only thing that has kept me on Charter is their HSI has been solid, but that's not enough anymore.

Sorry for the rant, but I've had it with Charter and their equipment.

Funny I am in the madison area , just over the jefferson county border. You would think we would see the same increases

Hi,

You will get one of those letters. If you have 10meg or faster your rate will increase by $5.00. If you have have 5meg you would not get an increase.

Charter tried to tell me I owed them rent for a modem that I bought from them. Got that straightened out, But Can Not stop the increase for the internet.

When I got my Two Year package renewed for my Triple play package they said My price was locked for two years.... Well guess what!!!

I have told the Charter People that when the Two years is up I will be cutting services. Tv and phone will go! Internet will drop to 5meg. I will be using my Cell Phones and have basic service on satellite for TV...
