[Speed] Evansville -I think something is a wrong here LOW Speeds

I was out of town most of the weekend, I came back last night and was trying to watch some videos on Hulu. It kept buffering something which I rarely experience since I have 20.0

So I did serveral speed tests last night and one a few minutes ago.
Within the past 12 hours the highest my speedtest.net results have been is a little over 7 megs. I am not sure what the problem is so I took a screen shot along with my modem Diagonistic pages.

anyone have any suggestions? I've never experienced speeds this low even before 20.0 was out, with the 10.0 service I would generally get at least 13 or 14.

I have 1 coupler between the cable box on the outside of my house and the cable modem, it has been like that for close to a year and a half now.The Coupler is there because the cable they ran is not long enough to get to my cable modem. It is a standard cable extension coupler. There are no Ts on that line between the box outside and the cable modem. I am a happy customer and I recomend Insight to all my friends and this has gotten me confused.

You definitely have a problem. your receive power level is low, but within range. your signal to noise ratio is low also, while your upstream power level is through the roof. I would first check the barrel you stated you used to extend the line, make sure all connections are tight, then trace the problem backwards as far as you can go, then call Insight if you can't fix it. likely problems are cheap cables, bad barrels, bad fittings, bad splitters, and squirrels or dogs eating the outside wiring.

Here's my diagnostics screenshot for my DCM-425, just for comparison.

EDIT: Just had a thought. do you have digital? does your OnDemand work? If so, it's probably just on the modem line or the modem itself. If not, it could indicate an outside problem.

BER should always be at 0. Downstream levels should be higher than -10, upstream levels should be lower than 53. You definitely have a signal issue. Check all of your connections to the modem.

Not sure what happened last night but the connection is back to normal again. My IP is on a completely different subnet though.

That's normal, if your having connection issues and you miss the renew request for the lease you can get dumped on another subnet. Just depends on what is available at the time.
