Hi all,

I am a Bellsouth user in Atlanta. I download/upload mail through Windows Mail. As of last night, I have been having problems with Windows Mail, with a Windows Security window popping up asking for my user name and password.

I googled and read that AT&T has changed the POP setting to: pop.att.yahoo.com. Is this the case for Bellsouth users also? I did not receive any communication from Bellsouth (AT&T) about this.

Thanks in advance for any help with this. I have a home business and need to send mail today ... it is timing out still with that same Windows Security message.

Thanks for the reply.

I ended up calling Bellsouth (AT&T) and talked to a knowledgeable and helpful rep. She did the remote access thing and changed my POP to the new ATT.yahoo address, leaving the SMTP as Bellsouth (legacy server).

My mail is running smoothly again and I can send and receive.

I wonder if they are phasing out the mail.bellsouth.net server?

I've gotten the same message here in Charleston since Monday morning. It's about 3:12 PM and I just got it again when checking my email. So it is probably not just Atlanta with the problem.
