Can't play U-Verse VoiceMail via U-VERSE CENTRAL "Vista"

My wife's PC is running MS Vista Home and when she clicks on the play button in U-VERSE CENTRAL it opens another window very fast and closed it within seconds No download save/open options box just goes back to U-Verse Central. I have no problem playing any VoiceMail's on our XP desktop or Apple Macbook running OSX. She's added »https://uversecentral3.att.com, uvpfs.att.com and att.com as allowed in pop-up blocker, temporally turned off all internet security settings on IE8 and even temporally disabled her Norton 360 Firewall and still the new white screen window just pops open and closed when the play action is clicked. The only way she can listen to them is to forward to herself via eMail.

Anyone using Vista Home Premium SP2 and had success in listing to voicemail messages with play button on U-Verse Central?

I am playing them fine in firefox on linux.

I have vista SP2, so if I happen to have a voicemail message when I next boot to vista, I'll test that. Are you using IE8 with that, or firefox, or some other browser?

Ah, never mind the question. I now see that you did mention IE8.

I have Vista and this is what I did to make it work:

Try this if you are using IE7 or IE8:

1. Open the "Tools" menu in IE, then "Internet Options".

2. Click the "Security" tab at the top.

3. Click the "Custom level..." button near the bottom.

4. Scroll down to find the "Downloads" section of options.

5. Set the "Automatic prompting for file downloads" option to "Enabled".

6. Click "OK".

7. Click "Yes".

8. Click "OK".

I don't believe it is a Vista issue as it was broken on my XP machine as well. It broke for me using IE8 when they made a change to the portal. I use FF to access now without issue on XP, Vista, and Win7.

Yep this works. The tech that I spoek to said this was a "known issue and had been for some time" - I would have thought that by now they'd work something out to use a media player control... this is pretty unsophisticated...
