[Speed] Extremely Slow Speeds In Boston

I'm in Boston, Roxbury to be exact, and I pay for 10Mbit service. For the past two days I've been getting very slow speeds. Finally I called up RCN and the tech had me isolate the modem by directly connecting it to my computer to rule out my router being the problem. It wasn't. Even directly connected my speeds remained slow. He had me run a speed test the first of which reported a 1.77Mbit speed. To expedite things we cancelled the uploads. After each test he would fiddle with things on his end, re-doing the provisioning I think he said and speeds would go up till we hit a wall around 5Mbit and they started coming back down again. Here's the speed test results.

He finally said that it looks like the router is not accepting the provisioning commands since the line tests clear and they don't see any service problems in my area. I may be able to swap out my router by going to the RCN location in Hyde Park tomorrow if I have time but in the meantime I would appreciate it if someone at RCN who reads this forum could try to see if they could fix my router before I run out to replace it tomorrow. I know its a longshot since I'm posting this at 11:45PM tonight but oh well.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
