[IA] iowa fiber cut

lost internet about 20 minutes ago. just called mediacom. csr said there is a fiber cut effecting about 15k subs and they are working on it. im in ft dodge. anyone else effected?

yea tv and internet down here. hopefully they will get it patched back up soon. until then im stuck with this junk ICS internet.

yeah, internet has been out here in ames for 5+ hours now. Tech support is worthless as to when it might be back up... Quite unacceptable.

This may be silly to ask, but if the internet was out for the six of you, how were you making these updates to this forum on DSLReports? You must all be paying for backup internet, or all at work in the evening or at night where it shouldn't matter if your home internet is down or not. Just curious....

When everything came back I had a new IP address...

Same address for 10 months on DHCP isn't too bad I guess...
