Hello.

I just purchased a new router and would like to have it connect to my cable modem without cloning. I disconnected my old router from modem for about 12 hours before I got home and connected new router, but will only get internet when I clone older MAC address. Do I need to disconnect router/modem for a given time before I can use default MAC address on new router or should I just called TWC/RR?

Any info appreciated. FAQ didn't have answer for this.

Power cycle the modem.

If it's also a phone modem (aka MTA) push the reset button on the back.

make sure you are unplugging your modem (if it is a modem/telephone adapter combo unit, either remove the battery once unplugged or simply press the small reset button on the back). Once the modem comes back online, then plug in your router. You should be good to go.
