Re: Scary VoIP stuff for Halloween
What gets me is Teleblend seemed like a name out of the blue back then.
Now perhaps deep six?
I feel sorry for the customers that stayed.

What's scarier is that this puts VOIP on the radar with the FCC and someone at the FCC gets the idea that there needs to be more rules/fees for Voip companies and then the Voip companies just turn that around for more fees on the innocent customers.

Re: Scary VoIP stuff for Halloween
It's very unfortunate that some VoSP can't get their act together.
They trash it for EVERYONE, just as you said.
Not only with increased regs, but also with a bad rap/rep for the whole community.
--------------------------------------------
The irony is that if the FCC and CRTC start steroiding their regulations, then companies will follow the example of companies like Link2Voip and claim they are bound only by the laws of Panama or some other country.

Re: Scary VoIP stuff for Halloween
Do you want to REALLY KNOW what's scary? It's the fact that people who do not have the service are predicting the demise of Teleblend. The thread that you supplied the link to, and the link contained within that thread, have a total of 5 people saying that they are having problems and I believe that some of those people are saying that their problems have now been resolved.
5 people with problems is not a predictor of certain doom. If I were to just read the comments of the other parties in the linked thread, I would believe that Teleblend is hanging onto the rim of the toilet with both hands to keep from going down the drain.
I have the service and I find that it always works when I go to use it and there is no need for anyone to feel sorry for me because I stayed with Teleblend. My daughter also has a Teleblend account and she thinks the service is great.

I hope that TeleBlend continues to do well for all of its customers. :)
But let me ask you, have you ever seen ANY other major VoIP service where someone could not get incoming calls on their DID for seven (7) days, and cannot get an explanation either?
Can you imagine the furor if that occurred with ANY other VoIP company?

That is good news Howie.
I'm used to many others chiming in saying "works fine here".
[att=1]
I see they have TB representative presence there.
"Your telephone number is part of a very small subset of customers experiencing an inbound outage." from a rep in a thread.
Their problem is likely being blown out of proportion. I can see that.

Re: Scary VoIP stuff for Halloween
By the way, howieh, it is a whole bunch of people from various parts of the country. Here are some posts from recent days and weeks. Where a person posted more than once, I tried to use their most recent update:
--------------------------------
WOZZ4422:
My houshold and signature number dont ring and also there isnt even a dialtone. When you go into the user portal on the web page it keeps saying there is a error and doesnt display any information.
--------------------------------
Cableguy1820:
My phone started working again
the website is working again too (but) now there are no voicemail accounts set up anymore and also all of the numbers i had in my block list are gone. but at least the phone is operational.
--------------------------------
Radioactive:
My outgoing is working. TB gave me a temp (incoming) number which I distributed to my close people to call me at home. So right now , Only problem I have is all my other contacts (accounts, colegues, others) do not have the new number. I am waiting for TB to fix it or else , I may have to proceed legally to claim my damage for loosing the number. I already filed with FCC.
--------------------------------
DU:
Same here. No incoming, no outgoing, no dial tone since yesterday. The "news" section on their web site is suddenly empty. Yesterday when I tried to login, it was giving errors, today it just says "your account has been closed". Payment site allows me to login and is functional. Hope its not Sunrocket all over again suddenly. Calling their toll-free went straight to some extension's voice mail. Left a message anyway.
--------------------------------
Lekhak:
BTW Teleblend service has been deteriorating lately. I opened a billing ticket 2 months ago, and its still not resolved. They just closed it the last time I checked. I reopened another ticket. Still waiting on a response.
And when I call them, just reach a CSRs voicemail, who never call back.
--------------------------------
NotHappy:
I am not getting incoming calls on my Teleblend phone since Sept 24th. (Posted October 3). I am able to make outbound calls.
Called Customer service, opened Ticket. There is no response to either of these.
Called Customer service again waited for 1/2 hour to get through and he informs that they are having issues with their providers and that it is a known issue and he has no idea when that might be resolved.
--------------------------------
Bsoper:
I'm out too (Indiana). Have been for a few days now. For the most part, I have been OK with TB, but I guess I just don't want to do it anymore. I was with SunRocket first, like a lot that are left, so I tried as long as I could. I left my number (Not my TB number) for them to call me back for the cancel.
--------------------------------
GRrome:
I too have not been getting any incoming calls. My issue has been running a couple of days longer than NotHappy's. It took a couple of days to realize that no calls were getting through and were getting dumped into my voicemail. At first I thought my answering machine was turned off, but I checked it and it was on. I then called my Teleblend number using my cell and the call went directly to VM.
I opened a trouble ticket that included my cell number and in a couple of days they replied with an e-mail stating that their system isn't seeing my VoiP adapter and if I could provide them with its MAC address. Fortuitously I was online when I received the e-mail and responded within a 1/2 hour.
Then nothing. I waited for almost a week before I finally called in and the support person I spoke with had me try a few things to no avail. They said that someone from their Engineering would contact me shortly to help resolve this issue. I typically understand the term "shortly" to mean a couple of days, but it's been a week with nary a word.
--------------------------------
So, respectfully, howieh, I don't think that this is the best of all possible worlds.

See the post below yours to know why I don't even respond with "it works fine here". If you are a Teleblend subscriber, you are at the mercy of some people who have a hardon for the company. I have been asked if I can imagine the furor if this happened with any other voip company. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't know if it happens with other companies, I don't pay attention to what does not concern me, and I certainly do not have the desire to go back to the beginning of October to look for problems.
I am someone who has little knowledge of the workings of voip, I couldn't even tell you what a clec is. All I know is I plug in my device and I make and receive calls. Anything beyond that, is beyond me.

Unless I am mistaken, usa2k was being sarcastic.
As for the rest of your post, I am just speechless.

Me, too!! Picture the new TeleBlend symbol, an ostrich with its head in the sand.
Where has HowieH been?! It's not about one negative TB thread ... it's about the vast majority of TB threads over the last 6 months or more reflecting cries for help with service and billing issues, not to mention disconnects and unrequested cancellations and outward porting difficulties.
I lived through the SunRocket debacle from beginning to end. And even at the end ... when it was so obvious that SR was not paying its bills and the smart folks were abandoning ship (SR employees and customers alike), we saw a small gaggle of supporters who were sure as shootin' that SR was going to get additional venture capital backing and continue as a thriving service.
Hey! It didn't happen. SR disappeared in the middle of the night ... and guess where some of its employees went ... to TeleBlend. Near the end of SR's life, Dave McDougal --- one of the head SR technical support guys --- was posting in the SR Forum under an assumed identity showing a location in Minnesota (even though he lived and worked in Virginia). He was telling us all that SR was healthy, in the final days of SR's existence. Well, guess who showed up as TB's head of technical operations/support! Of course, Mr. McDougal is long gone from TB. But the current TB rep (TBSupport1) who posts in the TB forum was Dave's right hand man at SunRocket ... and he is now the front man for TB. With that said, Joe B. at TB has truly tried to be helpful in resolving TB issues & problems while speaking up for his company. I truly believe his efforts are sincerely motivated. However, as with many failing companies, the employees may well be the last ones to read the writing on the wall.
