The Up Rate only being 1920 kbps/1.9 Mbps is a little concerning
Might be worth contacting one of the Tier 2 guys & have them run a couple of tests. From your Max Down rate being 60 Mbps, it can be assumed you are fairly close Loop Length wise to the VRAD, and therefore your up rate should be more than able to sync at the full 2048 kbps/2.0 Mbps

Your stats look good. Your Max rate indicates as ILpt4u stated, that you are close to your local VRAD.
The normal profile for your indicated distance would be: 25216 kbps down and 2048 kbps up
Since your up profile is showing 1920 kbps there is an indication that there is a possible source of inteference in your upstream band of the VDSL signal.
Your Attenuation is showing at 17.1 dB, I would expect it to be above 20-21 based on your other stats. Again this may indicate a source of interference in your upstream.

His attenuation should be closer to 10-12 or so according to his other stats, so at 17.1 db, there is some undo interference on his line. ;)

Just an FYI, That up/down is not my thorughput of my service. I just copied the info from my U-Verse statistics page on the \mdc page . My current service is 6016/768. I am just concerned about my attenuation for the most part. I do have a sort of digital tileing on my phone while the other person is talking which I think might be caused by the attenuation on my line, but I want to make sure before I start a service ticket with customer service.

I am getting a recurrable digital - tiling effect on my phone while the other person is talking. This happens during every phone call at least once during the call, the longer the call it will happen at least another time. One concern is that when Uverse was installed the tech said the outside line installer had to come to redo the line since there was noticeable noise interference on his meter. This was never done. I feel this is where my above problem is coming from. Please reply back. Thanks.

Just out of curiosity... when you say tiling, what exactly do you mean.
I've noticed on some calls we will get an occasional beep like as if somebody pressed a number key. It's very loud and annoying...

If it is exactly like the pressing # then something has bad DTMF detection (or someone did press #)

No, nobody pressed a number. It happens on both ends (we hear it sometimes, they hear it sometimes).
What is DTMF detection?

Digital-tiling is that sound of like a repetitive rolling of the person's voice on one word, its annoying. If you remember the late 80's tv commercial digitally-animated character "max headroom" when he talked they would intentionally roll his words. Thats what the other person on the line sounds like.
FYI: I got a response from uverse care they are saying there is a bridge-tap on the line when they did the drop. They said that needs to be removed which they think it is causing this issue.

Yeah a bridge tap could very well do that

Well, did you reply and tell him how close you are to the VRAD? If so you should have gotten an email explaining what that interference in red at the top looked like AM radio stations interfering at those tones 720-1518 Khz. ;)

I just sent a response to uversecare@att.com and will see what they say tomorrow. Also, on Saturday they sent a premise technician instead of a line tech as they promised they would. He said he would put in a ticket for a bridge-tap removal. Lets hope it happens Monday as the premise tech advised.

No I meant send a comment at Dohrenburg and Robert there will find what the interference is caused by. I had interference on 3 frequencies that corresponded to 760 WJR
AM and 800 CKLW AM here in metro Detroit w/o any problems caused by this. ;)

I just sent a comment to dohrenburg with the link to my line analysis. The tech just came today to I assume remove the bridge tap. I am still getting interference on my line. I am hoping this fixed the phone issue though. We shall see. Here is the new test link.

I just copied this from my statistics /mdc page for my modem. My attentuation went up for some reason. If they fixed my line and removed the brigde-tap wouldn't it go down instead of up?

I performed another test with dohrenburg and it now says my line is using the pair bonded profile instead of the default vdsl profile. I know pair bonded is better, but I am getting less rx power gain. I used to have 25.0 rx gain now I have 6.0 rx gain plus 18.0 dbm of attenuation. I contacted uverse care and they said that the bridge-tap might be in the house. Now they will be charging me for this...?

I isolated the my uverse system without having the phone line connected, just ethernet, digital tv,and retrained the modem. I also did yet another analysis test from dohrenburg. Here is the link: »adslm.dohrenburg.net/tools/db-li···ink=1025
There is not much of a difference there is still inteference and 18.0 dbm of attenuation, so I believe that it is either the install itself (coax) or the line from the pole. The Uverse installer said he saw interference and that the drop needed to be redone. Lets hope for the best and see if there is a resolution.

The change in attenuation might be the switch from VDSL(1) to VDSL2.
Your sync rates of 25208 down/2040 up is an indication that you have been put on VDSL2 instead of VDSL(1) which synced/sunc? @ 25216 down/2048 up.
VDSL2 is not the same as pair bonded. VDSL2 can be pair bonded, but for now typically is not.
In all honesty, unless the T2 agents are still showing a bridge tap on the line, I'd let it go at 25208 down/2040 up. That is the typical user profile...

I got notified by the tier2 tech and he said thru email there was some test he wanted me to do to be 100% sure that the bridge-tap was not in the house. He was supposed to call me today to tell me what to do, but did not contact me today. I guessed maybe he probably wanted me to isolate the phone system, so thats what I did from what I know about adsl systems. Maybe that wasn't the procedure but I did what made sense to troubleshoot the issue. One question though, why did the rx gain go from 26.0dbm to 6.0dbm and output power went down to 14.1 dbm as well. Is this less power characteristic of vdsl2?

Unless you have the RG/Modem synced at the NID, there is no test that any agent can run remotely to say for sure that a bridge tap is inside or outside.

Monello, Matt has the weekends off, and the email you sent with your contact information was received after he got off last night. i have tried contacting him to find out what his theory was, but he has been unreachable as of yet. i will keep looking and try to figure out what his idea was, but in the mean time, to answer your question, the 14.1 Dbm is well within the tolerances of Uverse.

If it is in turn the coax that is causing the interference than it can be said that either the comcast cabling that the premise tech "reused" was not compatable with uverse, or that in order to install uverse w/o any issues that new RG6 should of been installed in the first place instead of trying to save time and reusing comcast's cabling which effectively caused the uverse issues. I guess it could be said that comcast and ATT do not mix well all the way down to the cable wire itself. :D

One thing that I hope the new coax fixes is the delay both the STB
have when changing channels up/down which stops for about 3-5 seconds at most and then rapidly run thru all those delayed channels to wind up where it should of been those 5-10 seconds ago. I will keep everyone posted once they come do the coax changeover and will post the new results.....hopefully near to interference free on all counts. I'm hoping for the best outcome here.

I do recall now that with the old comcast cabling/service our internet/phone would go out for hours. Maybe all the inteference the uverse RG/modem is now dealing with in the cabling(coax) could of been the reason. It could be a prolonged issue with the coax that is just getting recognized now. But, even if the coax was still good I still would of switched to ATT Uverse since our phone has always been ATT pots except for that brief interlude of trying out CC.

Tech came on 11/18 said coax was fine and also that the tier2 tech people were crazy for assuming the coax needs replacement. He installed a new lightning arrestor that made the gateway go to red service and broadband lights for two day with a total of 2 premise techs and 3 outside line techs who didnt resolve the no service for all Uverse. Tonight I got fed up with this fiasco so I tested all the coax cable for continuity with a coax tester. All tested Good. Then I checked the customer side of the NID and gave the wires a slight pull and the solid blue wire came off. I then stripped to new wire and secured it to the splitter, Now after two days about to go on three days we now have Uverse back. THE END
