smtp.rcn.com doesn't support TLS???
I'm trying to move to gmail for mailbox management of a number of different e-mail addresses. I wanted to use their option of sending e-mail through rcn's servers when sending e-mail from one of my rcn.com addresses, but it seems gmail will only connect with a smtp server which supports TLS.
Anyone gotten this to work? It seems RCN's smtp server does not support TLS and gmail requires it. Is there another rcn smtp server which supports TLS which I can use?
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: smtp.rcn.com doesn't support TLS???
I ran into the same problem when I migrated over to gmail. I couldn't find a way to send email through RCN's servers. In the end, I just used the "send mail as" command under settings. In the end the email ends up being sent as "xyz@gmail.com on behalf of xyz@rcn.com." It works out pretty well. and no one has commented on the fact that I am actually sending my e-mail from gmail. It's the best solution given the fact that RCN doesn't allow encryption on their servers.

Unfortunately, I would prefer to keep my gmail account private. So if I send an e-mail from an RCN account, someone can easily discover my gmail address...
Hmmm...
