Terrible speeds

That's a "great" result lately...

Anyone else in KC having speed issues?

I have checked all cables, modem, etc. Signal levels are fine. A call to "support" results in the standard "no problems here" routine.

Re: Terrible speeds

I had been having that problem for a few months and then out of no where my connection started working as advertised.
The problem i was having is really slow download speeds from about 9am to 1am. I would get 1.5Mbs to 4Mbs during that time. I have always had roadrunner turbo 15Mbs.
I had had time warner out to replace the modem and check the lines a couple of times with not much luck.

Good Luck

Re: Terrible speeds

I've been receiving the OPs' speed for two years now. Visits and modem replacements have had no effect on this speed ... always the same.

Re: Terrible speeds

I just began having speed issues beginning yesterday and continuing today. I am located in Raleigh, NC. Here are my results from this morning:

I'm used to getting 5-6 Mbps. I'm not sure what is going on. Anyone else having this issue in NC?

Re: Terrible speeds

It must be the computer, because I tried from my netbook and got the following:

I'll have to look into what is wrong with my desktop (the computer the previous test was done from).

Maybe not your computer issue. It is the "time" you took your speed test.

Do the speed test on your laptop and desktop at the same time, lets say 10pm or 11pm.

Re: Terrible speeds

Those tests were actually done within 10 minutes of each other. Here are two tests I did within about a minute of each other just a couple of minutes ago.

Desktop

Netbook

I have Windows 7 on my desktop and Windows XP on my netbook. The slowness only started yesterday and I've had Windows 7 on the desktop longer than that.

Re: Terrible speeds

I had some problems this past weekend with very slo connection. Turned out my router had developed mysterious dropping of its info..reset and updated firmware and was fine.

Till today when the wireless wouldn't let me connect- took a 5min router reset to restore wireless connections. My history with connection speeds with RR is they vary greatly !!!! Have the turbo also.
