[Availability] DSL available on all sides but not to us?

DSL was recently brought to our rural street. It is available to the left of us, to the right of us and 1000 feet or more behind us, not to mention up and down the street on both sides, but the AT&T website indicates we can't get it. Possibly there is a reason, but we would just like to know why because our house is the newest in the area and we think it may be an error. I contacted AT&T to ask why it was not available. I was told we would have a response from an engineer within a few days. That was over a month ago now. When I follow up with them, I'm told that enginnering hasn't responded yet. Is there any way to get a response?

The fellows that drive the AT&T trucks up and down the streets in your neighborhood would know.

You might also try posting in the AT&T Direct (»/forum/sbcdirect) forum. Company techs monitor that forum and respond to specific customer questions like yours.
