[HSI] 6% packet loss is acceptable?
Have a charter HSI business account that's been experiencing an average of 6% packet loss for the last 2 months or so. It was working fine for the 4 years before that. Just called in a 5th ticket for the problem (modem replaced on the one of the last tickets 2 weeks ago) and they're telling me that 6% packet loss (confirmed by them over the phone via their tests) is acceptable.... anyone know what their policy regarding packet loss is?

Run a traceroute to some good website(google, etc). You should be seeing 0% packet loss as long as you are on Charter's network. Ping each hop starting from near to far.

linux (gentoo) router/server... but the last 4 tech's they've sent out have all seen the problem from the post in the yard at the property edge, they just never seem to follow up on getting it fixed. I don't mind it taking a while to get it fixed, but geez, since when is 6% packet loss considered "within normal limits"?

It's not normal. You may need to call the escalation number to get people involved.
Question, do you have Charter's phone service?

Jeez... I wish I were lucky enough to get only 6% packet loss. I've been dealing with > 20% for weeks now.
