Anyone know the magic phrase? I have Voip but im getting tired of it, so i want to see if i bundle my internet and phone if i can get a equal deal

Just ask. Some promotions occasionally will offer free rental for a year. Otherwise, just factor it in to the cost of the service when comparing.

A few people have posted that they have gotten the fee waived when they purchased their own modem. I guess it depends on your luck, but its worth a try.

For internet only, not voice. Customer owned eMTA's are not being provisioned for comcast digital voice anywhere.

we have the DV and don't pay a rental fee for the modem.. (its part of a triple play with an owned inet modem.
