[Connectivity] Internet and CDV suddenly went down yesterday.

TV works fine. I can access the EMTA stats but when I do Ipconfig it only shows a 192 address instead of the usual 67. The TV in the room works fine so the room drop is fine.

After a few hours I called Comcast expecting to hear a message about an outage in my area, but there was none. someone's coming Thursday to check it out. UI'm the only one in my neighorhood that has Comcast internet and/or CDV, the problem is the modem. So what could cause an EMTA to fail suddenly? There were no storms yesterday so it wasn't lightning.
The tech person I talked to said my EMTA was showing as being online. Is it possible my EMTA's MAC address was spoofed and someone is using it to steal internet access or for uncapping their modem?

This may sound silly but have you tried resetting the eMTA by using the reset button on the rear and/or unplugging it from the A.C. outlet and removing the battery and wait a couple of minutes ?

I did both.

The last couple days I noticed a little pixelation on the HD channels and also on those channels the sound wouldn't come all the way in and I would have to change channels and change back to get the sound to come in all the way. This makes me think a wire is half cut somewhere. CDV and Internet out and a little pixelation and sound issues withe the TV. Hmm, pixelation isn't in FF"S dictionary.

I haven't been home all day so I don't know anything yet. The reason I made this thread was because I wasn't gonna be home for the tech visit and wanted to know what the problem was. My parents certainly won't understand what the tech tells them. Well, maybe my father.

Whatever the problem was it took them half-an-hour to fix it and they wouldn't tell my mother what they did when she asked.
