[Future9] Does F9 support Inum (+883)?
I know sipbroker is supported via 06* but what about dialing +883 numbers?

The only way that I have found to use inum with F9 is to get an inum number from call centric and forward it to my F9 SIP URI. However, I have yet to find a good use for inum. How do you use it?

I wanted to see if dialing an Inum was a free call but its not. When I tried the Inum echo test +883510000000091 twice and it didn't go through and when I checked the logs, the TC on both calls was "congestion" and the rate was listed at .008 a minute so i'm glad it didn't go through. I can dial Inum numbers with Voxalot or Callcentric if i ever needed or wanted to.

I'll see what we can do about it. To be honest this is the first time I hear of someone actually wanting to dial an iNum number - I thought they were useless until now. ;)

Both, inbound and outbound calling of iNUM numbers is free with Callcentric. Where did you see that rate ($0.008)?

No need really, unless you really want too (its your service after all), I was just bored and tinkering as my post indicates and I wouldn't have really missed the 1.6 cents but on the other hand thats' almost 2 minutes of calls :D :D :D

That was the rate on the call log of my F9 account for the Voxbone-Inum trunk the call would've routed through. It was listed as 0.00 INUM on the CC call log.

I would second the usefulness of the Inum numbers.
For me, it's a DID that, while lengthy, will be useful in the future. One way, I call than Inum access number to get to the DID. Others, I will just pick up the F9 line.
I'm not personally worried about a $0.008/minute charge, although if Nitz can get a free trunk for Inum, I won't complain about that either! :)
Maybe Nitzan can offer free Inum DID's in the future...

iNum has some similarities to SipBroker, but is not as chaotic. SipBroker is now kind of a pot luck dinner.
iNum is useful in several ways. For example, just offhand:
1) For a CallCentric customer to call a Gizmo5 customer, or the reverse, free of any charges and free of any need for DID.
By the way, all Gizmo5 numbers are automatically convertible to iNum, as follows:
To know what’s your iNum number look for your Gizmo5 SIP number, which looks like 1-747-XXX-XXXX and replace the [1-747] with [883 510 07]
2) If I am in Toronto, Tel Aviv, or Tokyo, I can just dial a local number and be connected to my CallCentric* home phone in New Jersey *(or Gizmo5 or Voxalot or others). I've already used this.
Yes, SipBroker does some of that too. But SipBroker seems to be rudderless these days, whereas iNum has central organization.
Yes, progress seems frustratingly slow.
Time will tell if it flies or dies.
Antipasto said that Voip.MS was going to join. But I have not seen Antipasto around for a while. (International Falls, MN must have frozen over).

But you can already do this with SipBroker, just dial the SIP Broker access #, then dial *9026-yourF9phonenumber and you should get connected. Let me know if any problems with this. Incidentally, we also have calling card access numbers in all 3 of these cities too.

I didn't know that Gizmo5 had automatic Inum like voxalot does. I guess its starting to look a little more useful. Voxalot Inum is +883 510 004 XXXXXX where XXXXXX your Voxalot member number.
BTW, does F9 have automatic ENUM lookup? I know there is something I could add or replace my dialplan with for sipbroker enum lookups but is there something server side?

Nitzan, I said that SipBroker had many of the same functions.
I agree totally, no big rush for F9 or PP or VOIPo in this arena.

My concern with SipBroker is that it's become johnbelushified (as in Animal House).
No one's in charge, and there are lots of food fights.
I suppose it was supposed to be a Voxalot operation (as iNum is sponsored by Voxbone).
The newest news on the SipBroker website is from over 2 years ago.

In point of fact, CallCentric does sponsor many of the access lines for SipBroker.
Which is darn nice of them, but I don't know if they (CallCentric) will keep it up forever.
Especially being that they also now are involved with the iNum project.
I don't presume to give them advice, but if the iNum system can reach critical mass, that would be more worthy of support than SipBroker.

Vonage allows dialing them (no charge as far as I know). They give you an Inum number with their iPhone/iPod Touch application. The numbers aren't of use to me currently.
