[Speed] Down grade to HSI only Fair or not?
Hi, I just downgraded to HSI only. Tell me If anyone thinks this is fair?
I was paying $34.00 per. Mo. for the Performance tier 12/2 mbps advertised. Now paying $40.95 for the Economy tier 1mbps/384 k.
To go back to Proformance it will cost $59.95 per mo., pertty steap. What's more promo. for new costumers can get the Eco tier $19.95 for 12 mo. Verizon DSL is $29.95 for 3 mbps/ 760k. After 8 +years with Comcast I was compelled to move to Dish Network. Poor costumer service and equipment problems. What do you think?

Your $34/mo. was a promo.
Economy tier is $24.95/mo.
The $19.95 x 12 is the performance tier package.
Performance w/o cable is $57.95/mo.

No the $34.00 was not a promo it was part of my reg. service, called silver plus don't remember. I also had HBO total $128.82 for my recurring charge + 13.31 Taxes, surcharges, fees. Per. Mo. I had non paper billing. It was hard to keep track of the Comcast changes over the years. My online billing summary was not itemized. I will have to pay the $59.95 for the Performance tier the Eco won't work for me. Still not fair.

Standard Comcast Internet fees, with bundled service used to be:
$24.95
$42.95
$52.95
That was for the choice of "Economy", 6 Mb/s, or 8 Mb/s service. Unbundled Internet was always a about $13 to $15 higher, depending on the market.
DOCSIS 3.0 service may be changing things; but I've never heard of a standard Internet fee of $34; unless it was some kind of promo, or maybe an employee discount.

its was probably part of a triple play promo...
which is why it was 34/month.....

You may have recieved $34 as some sort of grandfathered bundle, BUT you chose to change/end the bundle, and now are faced with the current normal pricing.
Forget, how lucky you were, to pay the reduced price for so long (that deal is GONE forever!)
consider your current options...stick with economy OR pay more for performance OR switch providers.
BTW your detailed bill is always available online.

Thanks, I think tshirt maybe right the 34 was older pricing by making the change I going to take a $26 per Mo. hit. The fact is this day in time HSI is more than a Lux it a must, for me anyway. My location Comcast has no real competition, Verizon's DSL for my location only has 2 tiers right now and the fastest is like 3/760 for better than Eco. slow. About every month I get an add from Verizon saying FiOs is on the way, how long who knows. So for now if I want HSI at a useable speed I'll pay Comcast what ever. 100, 120, more? It will be my choice take it or do with out.
