Pause or switch between multiple channels on my DVR?
I just switched from Cox to U-Verse to try it out. So far I like pretty much everything. I do have one random question though.
With Cox I had a Tivo with a cable card. This gave me two physical tuners. With the Tivo I was able to physically switch between the two tuners. (Simply by hitting the Live TV button) Because of this "feature" I could have two different shows playing out and buffering. (One on each tuner) This meant that if there were two shows I was interested in watching but not necessarily wanting to record, I could simply pause one show on the first tuner and switch to the second tuner to watch the other show. When I was finished or a commercial came on I could simply switch back to the first tuner and play the show from where I paused it.
So i guess my question is if its possible to do this with the U-Verse DVR. (VIP1225) I want to be able to pause one or two shows. If not is it possible to have two shows buffering up at the same time so I could possibly rewind them. Right now no matter what Ive tried as soon as I hit anything, it switches the channel and deletes whatever I had buffered and it un-pauses me.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

You can record 2 (or more) shows, and then be able to "trick play" both (or more) shows...
But just using the "Pause" buffer, the buffer is lost the moment you change to a new channel, so as you describe it, it is not possible.
But the work around is just set multiple shows to record -- then you are able to rewind/FF at will multiple shows
