What does "upload compression" mean?

The test tries to detect compression in data by measuring upload of a file, then a less compressable file. It then measures the difference. If there is a difference, you get the warning.
Since cable modems does not compress files, the warning is likely due to speed fluctuations during the test.

Thanks for reply...I've never seen "upload compression" with my other computers with comcast.
Please excuse my inexperience. Why would my computer speed be compressed by power boost? I take that to mean that my connection speeds are slower because of this.

i would assume that it might see the sudden increase, decrease in speed, and think there is something wrong....
and as nerdburg said, cable modems dont compress files....
